Because we are factory direct and never take any concessions in materials, design and engineering people think our prices; sale prices are  too low.

do not even know anything about our products, because they just don't.  They cannot comprehend this level of structure, energy efficiency, amazing hydrotherapy, and totally engineered to MODERN standard of materials of today, not like some companies who are, literally, 40 years behind us in technology (like the number one selling spas on earth that just do not last and are super overpriced hyped up nonsense) . Basically ,we don't use psychological BS to sell, we use quality and ethics that is not found anywhere else that we have seen in the Spa and Hot Tub industry.   If you want to find out and save yourself from BS and concocted inferences and implications, (the only things others have to sell).  We do not use implications nor any inferences, nor any misleading statements to sell as these other extremely inferior products are and ALL portable spas made today are extremely inferior to our spas.  This is why MOST of our customers are engineers or have an engineering second degree.  And they have told their friends about us.  If you want regrets we don't have those with our customers.

Haven Spas are not for those seeking cheap prices for average or low quality, like Chinese crap or Czech, or Mexican Crap.  I want to make that clear. The cost to manufacture this level of quality and engineering makes them a bit more money to purchase, but far less compared to any American Brand and model similar.  However OUR own customers tell us our prices are too low "when compared to the other mediocre crap selling for outrageous prices".   Over time, the Haven Spas will pay for themselves in cost to own, by an average of $6000,  every 7 years for 30 years, it is as if you get a free hot tub.   Considering that most spas will be in the trash in 7 to 10 years and you found out too late about that. This is based on FACTUAL evidence gotten from other spa companies and chemical and repair costs.  And our own  customers with spas over 24 years old now.

We are the oldest Internet Spa Company PERIOD, and we survived by Quality, and by nothing but concern for our reputation.

I get phone calls from people who read about our spas then when they hear the prices, they disappear, because they seemed too low. So I put up the Suggest Retail For them if we had dealers.   For some reason they think that spas sold from the internet are cheap crap.  NOT Haven Spas!  I guess they are looking for common crap, money pits that break down and constantly cost a fortune to repair.  

Personally, I find that odd, but then people really don't know much about spas and hot tubs, until they read our site articles or talk with us.  And I don't think price only is a way to determine anything.  My son who repairs spas tells me I "make the spas too good."   He makes a lot of money fixing other brands, and you name the brand he fixes it, except for Haven Spas are very rare.  

I mean that under out extreme testing our spas ARE the most energy efficient spas ever made.  And there is no way to make them more efficient with all the modern insulation materials available. Basically, today there is NOTHING that comes close to this.  10 layers of space age insulation... Who else does that??  Just the savings on electricity makes them worth about $5000 more.  However they are priced less than any American, so called "high end" spa.  And in our, humble and expert (yes we are the experts on spas) opinion ,they are all crap compared to the quality and NO shortcuts in manufacturing found in Haven Spas.

Consider that one of the most touted and hyped spa brand is made with the absolute cheapest construction and is only designed to last 7 years, and that is exactly what they do.  Haven spas are designed to last a minimum of 30 years and with care 40.  You will most likely own three to four maybe 6 cars over the same period.   So basically you save about 6 to 10,000 dollars every seven years by buying a Haven Spa for similar money.

And our therapy and seating comfort and quiet running makes them about 30 years ahead of any other spa.  NO kidding.  Our oldest spas are still running and the customers have NO reason to buy a new one.  They even go wet test and their 23 year old Haven Spa has much better comfort and much more jet pressure for massage than the brand new crap from these Mexican spa companies.

Other spa companies take no consideration for the people using the spas in their latest designs.  Making them "pretty" but horrible for humans.  Difficult to move around with all the concocted curves and designer crap.  Like a pair of $1000 designer shoes, they are worn about 4 to 5 times to show off wealth, but the are very uncomfortable and they break down and fall apart fast.  If you are like that we don't think you are our type of customer.   If wasting money is your thing, I don't think you are our type of customer.

It is the quality, powerful massage, energy efficiency, COMFORT and usability  and extreme longevity that impels our customers to call, so I wondered why they would balk at the low prices?  So, we put retail prices and you have to call and get at least some understanding of the market before we will give you the low prices.      But we are at least $1000 less than these other crap spas sold as "high end".  (we can call them crap because of the Theory of Relativity.  Relative to our spas the ARE crap.)That is because we do not have DEALERS. We are the only supplier in the US for these amazing Dutch/American engineered and made spas. 

Everything on the internet is not intended for people who want cheap or average to low quality.   We have always had the highest value per dollar (real bargains), but that also means we build the best, longest lasting (20 to 40 years of amazing therapy), and  the most energy efficient spas with FULL strength therapy.   For the last 23 years we have completely dominated therapy and our OLDEST models have way more correct ergonomic therapy that the crap from other companies.  However, we have continually improved on an already amazing therapy, by adding such things as the "Power Jet" that no other spa has ever even thought of.

No other spas can match this combination.  With every "recession" we just kept adding more refinements, more features for therapy, more powerful therapy and stronger cabinets.  It is our contention to NEVER lower the quality in order to survive these recessions.  (In 2006 the year of the "great spa depression" we created the Super Custom Magnum Fallsburg and Timberlake.)  Apparently, the last horrible recession (spa market "great depression") starting in 2006--2008 has never ended, because the quality of American Hot Tubs is at an all time low, in my humble and expert opinion.  I have never seen such crap sold at those rip off prices in my 35 years of , designing , repairing, and building spas.  I really had hopes that these companies would just go away after the last "great depression" in the spa industry.

I can remember when I was working service, we would find a 30 year old ##ndance spa, still running with minor repairs.  And they had the "first edition" of the Balboa controls, very reliable back then.  Then the first recession hit in '90-'91 that is when the defense plants in CA lost most of their contracts, because the "cold war" ended.  California was the buying ground for #undance. So what happened?  Instead of downsizing (because they were not able to downsize with a lot of debt, or file bankruptcy and close the factory. The right thing to do.) they had to find a way to get past this recession.  

It was change the ethics of making the best spas ever at that time, then start making cheap spas with so many problems,  just  to get past this recession.  I can't blame them for their decision to make cheap crap to get by and so they created a "second line of spas" and sold them as the best from their existing and now very old, "best" reputation at that time.  They have never recovered that position and instead after the last problems of bad glue joints and poor quality control they were sold to another spa company for a "song". Then that company in 2007 was sold to a marketing company for about 10% of its value with about 650,000,000 in debt. 1.2 billion for five factories. 

That was a great deal for the "marketing company"  who bought them, but a bad deal for you the consumer.  5 brands of spas now made to last 7 years maximum with 2 to 5 year warranties. Then only a company in the NE, Mass. who was looking good and improving ( I know their ex-engineer and plant designer, a great guy), finally sold out to a very poor quality spa company.  So, basically, there is no "high end" spas left made in the USA.   And even we had to move to Europe, our complete factory, in order to keep our spas in production.  It was the only way to keep real quality spas in production. 

We are it. There is no other choice for high end quality with no concessions.  And I challenge you to find out for yourself. 

In many cases in comparison in cost to own the Haven Spas will outperform outlast and cost less to own than any other spa.   For example;  A very small spa from a competitor will use at least twice the energy of our biggest models, just to keep them warm and ready.  This is no joke nor exaggeration we have the data.

We are the only people who have used thermodynamics and the laws of physics (yes laws that always work). to produce the most advanced insulation system ever to exist.   It tests out (over 20 years now) as the most energy efficient.  Yes, we tested it over a 5 year, now in Europe, to determine just how amazing it is.  We have third party energy meters on EVERY spa we sold there.  It monitors each spa for energy use, and we have a guarantee of 4.5 KW MAXIMUM for winter to keep it warm for our largest model.  That is the lowest ever tested energy use in any spa ever made.

That is why in Holland we actually include an energy meter with the spas and offer an energy guarantee with it. And if you want want in the US we can sell you one also.
 
There is no better statement of energy savings that to have a third party website with all the data on ALL the spas we sold in Holland, and we have NEVER had to pay any money on the "energy warranty".

So you can chart the energy use of every spa owner online now.  Every moment of energy used is charted on our spas in Holland.   We do this because electricity in Holland, depending on where you live, can be 4 to 5 times the cost of the USA.  In some places it is over Euro 0.70 to 1 Euro per KWH, (over 50 Euro cents is added for any use above certain KWH) especially with the "tiered metering".  In order to kill the competition we went to full on best engineered insulation, even better than the spas we sold in the USA for nearly 20 years and those beat all the competition at that time and still do to this day.  We now have DAIT level 6 on all our spas there.

In our testing in Colorado our old Fallsburg model (with standard thermally sealed insulation, the older version of insulation), a powerful spa with two 6 HP pumps and air blower cost (on a meter test) $17 (at 7 cents per KWH) per month average and never went over $35 in winter.  (We put a meter on that spa.)  Now with our improved plumbing we don't need anything above 4 HP. But if you want to be beaten hard with jets (most people can't take that intensity), you can use 5 HP.  We came up with 4.5 KWH per day maximum (guaranteed or we pay your electric for a year) to maintain our 90 inch large 6 person spa in Winter in Holland. We have never had to honor that warranty.  Of course our smaller spas are even more efficient.  And if you want solar spas and live in a decent solar area, we have the best design for that as well.

With the rise in electric costs across the USA and it is scheduled to double very soon, with all the extremely expensive wind electricity (which by the way is a bad idea and every seasoned engineer concurs).   Your investment in a Haven Spa would pay for itself over 15 years and be equal to a free spa in terms of electric use alone.  If you add the absolute best use of high quality components, it is then paid for in 6 years.  Basically, this comparison is against the, so called, "high end" of any competitor.   Unlike our competition, we actually design the spas to last more than 7 years, with our target at 30 years of reasonable use and 20 without proper care (normal spa owners), and 30 years of taking good care of the water, keeping it out of rentals.  If you want the most durable spa to put in a rental, there is nothing stronger.

Another thing that is very interesting; our therapy is way above any other brand in terms of correct placement of jets for correct massage.  It has been this way for nearly 24 years now.  It is to our company detriment, because we don't keep selling to existing customers (by constant upgraded to therapy). The old Haven Spas are still the best even today in terms of therapy.  I, personally, own a 17 year old Haven spa and see no reason to change it.   Only rarely if they want a larger spa or smaller spa. They keep their Haven Spa and even after 10-17 years will move it to a new home, because there is no reason to leave it.  And it is designed to be fully repairable. The shell can last 50 years and still look good.   Our shells can not be compared to any other, because you cannot get this level of resin in the USA.  It is the same as used on billion dollar yachts.  Yes, Holland is noted for the best fiberglass yachts on earth. 

It is the cost to repair after 20 years that has allowed some new shoppers  to consider a new Haven Spa, made in Holland.  If you want "green" then buy a spa that lasts and keeps the land fill with no Haven Spas.  And now our shells are perfect for recycling and although we have never had to, because they are all still running, they can be used over again in such things as counter tops and NEW spas who use this for hard filler.  Can't do that with the crap from  hox spigs . 

Each year we keep on improving, while the major spa companies are forced to reduce the quality move to Mexico, use Chinese parts and raise prices. 

This idea that you can survive recessions by making lower quality is a "disease" found in this industry.

 This is why every major spa company was bought out by "investment" company, Like Apollo Management  and for about 10% of the value of the assets at the time of the sale with $650 million in debt.  Many of these companies started out making descent quality and got good reputations. Then the first big recession hit and they lowered quality to sell cheaper spas that were full of problems.  

That first "big" recession only lasted for 3 years, so they were able to barely make it. But they never returned to full quality of the late 1980's.  After the last recession 2007 all the major spa companies were bought out for almost nothing. The owners lost all their investments in order to get out from under the horrible debts.  This left the US consumer with very poor quality and not one of these new owners is interested in anything other than making money.  

That should give you a clue as to the condition of the spa industry. Now almost all the major brands are owned by TWO companies.
